# Affiliate disclosure

This applies across all four perils: water, fire and smoke, mold, and biohazard.

## If and when there are # Link to this section

In line with FTC guidance on endorsements (16 CFR Part 255), any affiliate link will be disclosed clearly and above the fold on the page it appears on, and marked so search engines can identify it.

## Where they are permanently prohibited # Link to this section

Affiliate links will never appear on:

 
- Emergency pages, or event pages

- Insurance pages

- Mold, biohazard or health pages

- Assistance pages

- Any page marked as requiring a professional

- Any page flagged for sensitivity

 

The rule is simple: no monetisation on a page someone is reading while the loss is active, or while they are dealing with a death. This is enforced in our build, not just in policy — the build fails if an affiliate link appears in any of those sections.

Remediation services. Biocides. Professional drying equipment. Ozone generators. Anything requiring certification to handle safely.

## What we might # Link to this section

Prevention-branch products a homeowner can genuinely use: moisture meters, water leak alarms, automatic shutoff valves, smoke and CO alarms, HEPA vacuums, respirators, hygrometers.

Earning a commission never changes what a page says. If a product is not worth buying, we say so.
