Advertising disclosure
This applies across all four perils: water, fire and smoke, mold, and biohazard.
At launch: none Link to this section
There is no display advertising on this site.
If that changes Link to this section
Any advertising will be clearly distinguishable from editorial content. Advertisers have no input into what we write, and no advertiser sees a page before it is published.
Sections that stay ad-free permanently Link to this section
Emergency, events, insurance, mold, biohazard, health, assistance, and documentation. Plus any page marked as requiring a professional, and any page flagged for sensitivity.
An advertisement above safety information is a design failure regardless of what it is selling. No advertisement will ever render above an emergency warning, a support block, or a first-hour checklist. This is enforced at the template layer.
Sensitive targeting Link to this section
If advertising is enabled, the biohazard, health and death-related sections are excluded from behavioural targeting entirely. Someone researching unattended death cleanup should not be followed around the internet because of it.
What we will not accept Link to this section
Advertising from restoration contractors, remediation companies, public adjusters or claim-management firms. Taking money from those parties would end the independence that makes this site worth reading.
